Havana, As It Was
世界が目まぐるしく変わっていくなか、その様相は画一化が進んでいます。 キューバも例外ではなく、いつかは変わってしまう流れに逆らえないのかもしれない。
そんな思いに突き動かされたように思います。
2023年2月、コロナ禍が明け、海外へ渡航できるようになった直後のタイミングでした。
当時のキューバを、そういった感情とともに夢中でシャッターを切り続けました。
確かにそこにあった情景や人々の営みを残しておきたかった。
The world changes relentlessly, and with it, places lose what made them singular. Cuba is no exception — one day, the tide of change will reach its shores too.
It was that feeling that drove me to pick up my camera.
February 2023. The world had just reopened after the pandemic.
I found myself in Havana, shooting instinctively, carried by emotion.
I wanted to preserve what was undeniably there — the scenes, the lives of the people, the life of a city as it was.
